When Jesus ascended into heaven, he gave a command to his followers to continue the ministry he began as chronicled in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The New Testament details the Life of the Church beginning in the book of Acts, describing the birth of the Christian Church movement.

This series of messages follows a series given in the fall of 2005 on the Life of Christ. We discover immediately that the Life of the Church is to continue on the ministry begun with Jesus; that Jesus' ministry did not conclude when he left, it only just began! We learn that the main character of the book of Acts is the Holy Spirit which was poured out at Pentecost, detailed in Acts 2.

The Life of the Church challenges us to put aside our preconceived notions of what church is and rediscover the holistic movement begun in the 1st Century. This series challenges us to understand that we are part of the church, interconnected with fellow believers through the Holy Spirit. It challenges us to ask a fundamental question - Is God calling our faith community to plant a church as a means to advance His Kingdom on earth?
