Golfaroo History
Another beautiful day for a Golfaroo.
What do you get when you get a few guys together who love God and golf? A fabulous fundraiser with a funny name!
The Golfaroo concept came together in 1997 when a few guys from Redeemer decided to host a golf tournament to raise money for various ministries, both inside and outside Redeemer.
Over the last 13 years, the Golfaroo has raised over $255,000.00 for the following missions:
- Oakdale Youth House in San Francisco, California
- Spiritual Retreat Center in Varanasi, India
- Church planting in Nepal
- Mission Adventures in New Zealand
- Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City
- Youth With A Mission - San Diego/Baja
- Built an orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico
- Agua Viva Orphanage, Ensenada, Mexico
And the following ministries:
- Kids Gaianst Hunger
- CEAP (Community Emergency Assistance Program)
- Teen Challenge
- Glorybound
- Faith Haven Camp
- Redeemer's Children and Youth Ministries, Men's Ministry, Worship and Outreach Ministries.
Every year, the Golfaroo proves to be a highlight fellowship event with many golfers and almost as many volunteers! With no end in sight, the Golfaroo continues to be a fun way to serve one another and raise money for worth-while ministries, missions, and projects.
