Redeemer Lutheran Church
What's up with that

Beginning in the fall of 2004, Redeemer is engaging in a church-wide emphasis called the OTC (Old Testament Challenge). What is the challenge? The challenge is to:

1. Come to the weekly Old Testament teachings every Sunday morning.
2. Read through the Old Testament every day. (Reading Plan)
3. Be part of an OTC small group. (Join a small group!)

Part I – Creating a New Community: Life-changing stories from the Pentateuch (first five books of the Bible) – Fall 2004

The first five books of the Bible, commonly called the Pentateuch, are a revelation of God’s creative power. From Genesis to Deuteronomy we watch as God creates the heavens, the earth, animals, human beings, a new community, and a nation of people to follow him. Yet, as God created and brought order, human begins rebelled over and over again and found themselves spinning downward into the chaotic abyss of sin. In response, over and over again, we read of how God came to rescue them and bring form, shape, and meaning to their lives.
If your heart longs to make sense of life, then embrace this Old Testament Challenge! The first five books of the Bible answer some of the deepest questions we carry in our hearts. The Pentateuch helps us make sense of life and brings order into the chaos we all face.
As you enter this study, do so with an expectant and open heart. The same God who brought light into the darkness can bring rich new meaning to your life. The Almighty Creator, who made the heavens and the earth, wants to give new hope to your heart. Simply ask him to do his creative, life-changing work on more time, and watch what he does!
